i7 8086k Temperatures

Just a quick one, looking for some reassurance. I'm running a custom loop that includes 2x 240 rads and it runs as follows:
pump/res - rad 1 - cpu - rad 2 - gpu - pump/res
The gpu is a rog strix 1080 ti with +100 on clock and the cpu is an i7 8086k at 5.0ghz on all cores.
Idle temps:
cpu - 30-40*C
gpu - 30*C
Under heavy load temps:
cpu - 70-80*C sometimes up to 85*C
gpu - 45*C
Would you guys consider these temps normal for an i7 8086k with that sort of OC on and being cooled by a custom loop?
Thanks.

What's your voltage at? That does seem a little on the higher end for a custom loop. Probably nothing to worry about though.

I would consider them normal, similar temps that i get on my I7-8700K on an AIO Cooler when i run at 5.1Ghz. I am a little concerned at hitting 85 degress so i dialled it back to 4.9Ghz to drop the CPU temp peak. Your well clear of the 100 degree risk mark but it is your own call mate. As long as your stable and dont get crashes then should be fine if you need it at 5.1 and are happy with the slightly greater risk.....

Im currently running at 36 degrees CPU under 20% load and 40 degree GPU with no additional cooling and stock overclock (2080)

Voltage is at 1.25. Everything is stable, I just expected lower temps with a custom loop.

Yeah it's that stray 85*C that concerns me really, I might just dial it back a little.

Yeah, I hear you. As long as your idle temp and regular workload temps are under control I'd say you don't really have to worry about anything.

You can adjust the Fan & pump rates based on temperatures also if the noise isn't an issue for you, the stock curve they come with may not meet your requirements under Overclocking and can knock off some of the top temps. I.e. I would hope at 80 degrees+ your pump and fans ramp up to near 100% to help lower temps, worth checking and if not set change to user defined and create your own arc.

If you delid you 8086k and use liquid metal you can see up to 25C drop in temperature with an water cooled system OCed. There are plenty of youtube tutorials on how to delid. I delidded my i7 8086k and sure enough got a 20C drop in temps with 5.1GHz OC @ 1.35V vcore.
