I have an ASRock H61M-DGS and i just upgraded my network speed from 100mbs to 1gb, but my computer is stuck at 100mbs. I tried pluggin the cable into my laptop and it works at 1gb. I tried different cables but none worked. I use a tp-link WR1043N but i dont think that would be the problem since it worked on my laptop. I also tried uninstalling and installing the driver but that as well didnt work.

Edit: I use the same cable when i change from laptop to pc.

Solution

Then it is most likely your NIC. I would purchase a cheap PCIe or USB3 one and install it and you will probably have gigabit speed.
Is everything ethernet plug in directly into the WR1043N? There is no ethernet switch in the middle? and when you say cable, so what am asking is: ASROCK ----(what is in HERE?)----WR1043N.

What is in HERE may involve multiple things and you must deal with each. Can run a long extension CAT cable bypassing (what is in HERE) to verify.

No, its directly from router to pc, and i tried to plug from modem to pc, and i still couldnt go past 100mbs. There is only 1 ethernet cable from pc to router, and its a cat5e cable.
When i go to control panel > network and internet > network and sharing center > change adapter settings and double click the conection it shows 100mbs, i tried going to properties and change the "speed & duplex" form auto negotiation to 1.0Gbps full duplex, but still didnt work.

I tested 4 different cables.

Then it probably is your Ethernet adapter on the motherboard. You can get a cheap PCIe adapter for gigabit, they are less than $20.

then iot sounds like it has something to do with the ethernet on your board. i would check for driver and BIOS updates

I already tried to update the driver, and i just updated my bios, but still did not work

This says you have a bad NIC, bad/incorrect driver, assuming u already swapped CAT cable.

When u said 4 cables, I hope they are from different stocks, know what am saying.

I think 2 were the same, but i am sure the others were not , so in theory i might have tried only 3 cables.

I ordered one and am waiting for it to arrive. Hopefully that does it.
