Ok so I think I have dual channel memory , accroding to CPU-Z in the memory category it says 8GB ram and dual channel , so does dual channel mean 4X2 ?
I want to upgrade to 16GB , what should I should I do to maximize performance ? buy another dual channel 8gb ram from the same brand or it doesnt matter ?

Solution

This motherboard has two RAM slots, meaning you must get 2x8GB sticks of RAM.

First, we must figure out how many RAM slots your motherboard has. If you give the model here I can research it for you.

Just a quick side not for later: Make sure that if/when you do buy the RAM, it is the same speed, brand, and DDR type.
