Just upgraded from a GTX 970 to the new Windforce RTX 2070, but I'm having a ton of problems getting it working.
1. The monitor is stuck to 1024x768, and 4:3 aspect ratio. When I check the NVIDIA Control Panel, for some reason it says I am using "DVI - PC Display" even though I am using HDMI. Although I've always used DVI with my GTX 970, but the RTX 2070 has no DVI ports so I went with HDMI instead.
2. MSI Afterburner is not giving me any options for fan speed control, the whole section is greyed out, and there's no fan tab in the settings. Also there is no graph for fan speed, and it can't be switched on, there's no way that I can monitor fan speed at all.
3. Even when I boot, the BIOS screen is all messed up, only the top left corner of the BIOS is shown, and all the text are squashed as if everything got moved into the bit of the BIOS that is still displaying, again, a bug possibly related to problem 1.
4. My monitor shows up in device manager as "Generic non-PnP Monitor", it's a LG E2250V.
I've tried to completely reinstall the GPU driver with DDU in safe mode multiple times but it didn't seem to help. I've also reinstalled my monitor's driver (and the .inf file) and that doesn't help.
Could it be possible that some of the problems are related to my monitor's HDMI port? Maybe it's broken? I have a HDMI to DVI adaptor coming in, so I will also test out using DVI instead.
Any other solutions that you guys can recommend me trying?
