Hi forum.

Recently I upgraded from a i7 4790k and a MSI SLI Krait Edition motherboard.

I am now running an i7 8700k and an ASRock Z370 EXTREME4 with 32gb of Corsair Vengeance DDR4.

I've noticed during streaming and gaming that my computer locks up and freezes, even at idle. I have a big enough power supply and this wasn't happening before my upgrade. If I rotate my mouse and do circles on my computer it occasionally skips and freezes in place for several moments. If I play video games the game won't freeze but my input will and for instance if I was running forwards my input will continue to keep me running forward, even if I let go of my keyboard. This is really odd to me, and I don't understand how an upgrade of new parts could cause this issue.

These are my idle speeds whilst this stutter lag occurs: https://gyazo.com/fba4258c9aa494f552ac2b9480a01d51

If any further test or anything is required just let me know, I seriously have no clue what this could be.

So the performance issues is probably because you didnt. You really need a clean install when switching motherboards. I know you will be looking for a different answer but just about everyone will tell you the same. Be sure to grab any of the chipset, GPU, Sound etc drivers. The motherboard manufacturers website will have most in teh support downloads for your motherboard and you can get your GPU drivers Nvidia.
