Can't find answer after at least 30 threads: Router limiting my internet speed, but it shouldn't be.

Ethernet to PC gives me 300-400mbps

Same ethernet into router then into my PC limits at 70mbps.

Limit bandwidth setting is off.

Can't figure out why my internet speed is being limited.

Tried 2 different routers. Thought my new router would fix it, but it's the same issue.

My new router:

According to specs it should cap me at 300-450mbps.

Help please.

The "300-400mbs" specs are for wireless, not wired.

This particular router has only Fast Ethernet (100 Mbs). You need a router with Gigabit ports.

Are you sure this router doesn't have faster ports? I can't find a spec that says what you are claiming.

Please excuse my ignorance I am unsure what you mean.

I tried to find it. This is the first Ethernet port that pops up:

Name [00000001] Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection

I can send you more info if you'd like, but the list is massive.

Are you sure this is relevant? My computer gets 380mbps download average through ethernet. The same ethernet into my router then the lan into my computer through a cat 6 cable gives me max 70mbps download. I have tried multiple cables through multiple lan ports. same results.

Amazon says "4x Fast Ethernet." Manual page 96 says "Four 10/100M Auto-Negotiation LAN RJ45."

U complaint about Internet speed yet nowhere do u disclose what your are paying for.

I have a feeling you don't really have a problem, just gotta know what you currently have/paying.
