My games are lagging and stuttering and i have good specs

i have a gtx 1050ti and an x4 880k
8.00 gb of ram ddr3
3.10 GHz
want to go for an upgrade but dont know how to build a pc without messing it up. I just want to play my games smoothly

It would depend what's causing the stuttering or lag. From my x4 760k days I found some games were more sensitive with other software, so closing down all unnecessary tasks will help a bit (eg. an open browser). If running games from a mechanical hard drive then defragging it occasionally might be beneficial. And sometimes verifying games cache can help resolve some odd issues.

After those things, I would suggest using MSI Afterburner to monitor the system's performance (in conjunction with AMD Overdrive). Monitor CPU (all core threads), GPU and RAM usage and frequencies; CPU and GPU temperatures; fps and frametimes; and maybe page file.

My suspicion is the games you're playing maxes out the CPU so it can't possibly push any more...

The x4 880k is the fastest CPU for the socket, so any meaningful upgrade will require a new CPU, motherboard and RAM. How much are you willing to spend?

The FM2+ processors were low tier and there's little difference between the fastest processors for it. Not enough to warrant upgrading to another processor on the same socket. (It's also why I upgraded to a Ryzen 5 1600 from a x4 760k.)

EDIT: Depending how you want to upgrade it's possible to look at older Intel CPUs and compatible motherboards and keep your current RAM. The issue with this approach is you're limited to old technology with little upgrade options in future for the platform.

It won't be. To upgrade to any Ryzen CPU will require new motherboard and (DDR4) RAM. It is the essentials of a new PC really (as it was in my case). Something like this would be nice:

I mention the Intel route because it's possible to get something like an i7-4790k and a Z97 motherboard and keep your DDR3 RAM. If you can it for substantially less than those above, would be worth considering.

My suspicion is the games you're playing maxes out the CPU so it can't possibly push any more frames. With Afterburner's graphs, see if this is the case when you get fps drops (or extended frametimes).

Additionally see if lowering graphical quality helps improve stability. I lowered game resolution to increase fps in a handful of games, which might be something you'd want to try to see if can be made more consistent.

tried to add a picture but didn't work im getting in all cpu usages over 50% and my gpu only gets around 20-25%
