Is my new server better than my gaming rig?

I just recieved one of my dads old servers for free and am not sure if it beats out my old rig for gaming. So my question is: Which of the following machines would get the best performance in gaming:

Current rig
ASUS M5A97
Phenom II X6 1055T
16GB DDR3 1600MHZ
R7 250

New server
DELL T5400
XEON QUADCORE E5450 X2
16GB DDR2 667MHZ
E-GEFORCE 9800 GT

I know the R7 card is likely better so it will probably get put in whichever machine i go with but i don't know enough about comparing amd to intel, or about the benifit of the extra/faster cores vs the slower ram, to know which will offer better performance.

I am thinking the amd rig will give me better performance but im not sure. If so what should be my next upgrade down the line to increase performance. I realize that aside from a graphics card the server doesnt have much upgrade potential left.

Whichever i don't use for gaming will be regulated to either home server duty or made into a linux rig to practice on. I have another T5400 with a single e5420 and the same ram for the other.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

What games do you play?

Compare the hardware requirements of those games to both your "Current rig" and "New Server".

Which ever machine can match the most gaming requirements becomes your gaming system. The other system becomes the "practice rig".

However, keep in mind that you may be able to "mix and match" components to achieve multiple goals.
