Pc doesnt post until reset

So i had an i5 4690 and got an i7 4790. The problem is when i press the power button it seems like it turns on, the components are working, but nothing post on the screen. If i press the reset button it turns on and works perfectly fine.

i7 4790 -now, used to be an i5 4690
8gb ddr3 ram
gigabyte z97x-SLI rev 1.1
corsair cx 600w psu
gtx 1080
120 gb samsung 850 evo

First thing i would do is reseat the CPU. I know its a pain to take off the cooler and reseat then reapply thermal paste but it is the first thing i would do in your position.

Do you get any fans spinning or lights on the Motherboard ?

yeah everything comes on like normal just no picture on screen until i reset. was thinking about doing a bios update since it running on a bios from 2015.

That would be a good start !!! Update from BIOS and we can go from there.
