Hello,

I finally feel confident enough to update my BIOS. My current BIOS is F2, which is what came with the mobo. The latest Gigabyte Gaming 7 BIOS is F10 which supports gen 9 cpu's. Should I always update to the current BIOS even though I'm using an gen 8 cpu? Everything is working great now, but I always want to keep everything updated if that is whats recommended.

Yes, everything seems to be working fine now, but I looked at BIOS updates later than mine (F2) and they have improvements. Wouldn't I want these?

F4a - Enhamced XMP performance.
F4 - Update for security vulnerabilities
F5h - Improved XMP DDR Compatibility
F5 - Improved GPU compatibility
F7 - Improved Windows boot time

I can almost guarantee you'll notice very little difference in your day-to-day performance.

If you want to update, then go for it. If your computer works as you desire in this very moment, there's no reason to go through the hassle and risk (though, very small) of bricking the board.
