Ive been having issues with my old MOBO (at least i assume the issue is the MOBO, long story and whole different thread has been made to troubleshoot with no luck). I decided to replace my current MOBO but while shopping for a new one I was presented with so many options I got a bit overwhelmed.

I currently own a Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 5 and I am looking to replace with a comparable mobo. But the price differences online are so varied I dont really see much difference either. What I can say is I have an I7-6700K that i dont plan on overclocking and im only using one GPU. Right now, I have a few options on my screen and im wondering what would be the most suitable replacement.

ASUS TUF Z370-PLUS Gaming (Why is this one so much cheaper than the rest??)
ASUS PRIME Z370-A
MSI Z370 GAMING M5

Now, im not asking anyone to make a full comparison by any means. Im just curious... Why wouldnt I choose the cheaper Asus board. Thank you in advance

You can't use any of those boards. Only the 8000 series and 9000 series of cpu's can.

so i made this thread a while ago and i still havent pulled the trigger bc every z170 board seems to be really expensive now. I did some digging and it seems z270 boards support the same CPUs. Is this correct? Can I purchase a z270 board instead of a z170 board? Again i have i7 6700k.

Thank you in adance
