Hello I have currently

Motherboard Msi Z87-G55
I5 4440 Corsair water-cooled
Rx 470 msi gaming x
Corsair dominator 16 GB ram 1600 MHz
43 inch 4k screen 60 hz

I'm playing mostly fornite and I'm thinking about buying RTX-2070

But then I guess my CPU won't handle it anymore so I'm thinking about upgrading to i7-4790K

Is that a good or bad idea?

I'm also thinking about just selling this PC and building a new pc from the start cause then I could get a motherboard that supoorts Skylake and ddr4 ram

I can't decide please Help me :)

If you're just playing Fortnight then you really do not need this GFX card.

If you're thinking of upgrading the processor then its worth just upgrading the whole rig so it supports 7/8th gen processors and DDR4 RAM.

Although to be honest, if youre only playing Fortnight then you should be more than okay with your current build.

I'm also using the computer for picture editing and programming.

Btw I wrote a mistake, I have i5 4440 not 4460
. all setting is lowest except view distance I put to epic, my resolution is

Around 1500p with 60 fps steady with small spikes under 60.

I overclocked both my CPU and GPU and got like 20% extra power

for this game you can either get better GPU, 1060 6GB should be fine for this cpu. (maybe 1070) there is no point upgrading to i7, get mobo and ram as even i3-8100 is now better than your current cpu :)

about programming, there might be sense to move to ryzen 2600/2700x please check them.

Honestly, for the sake of Fortnite i'd recommend either the 1060 or 1050 (recommended is 660 which is old school!). You dont need a better GPU than that.

Other than that, i'd keep everything else the same, most programming programs or systems created dont need that much resource (completely dependant of course).

I'd just get a new rig or maybe upgrade GFX card but theres not much more thats worth doing to your current rig.

I guess if you upgrade your GFX you could potentially keep it for your new rig.
