Hi guys,

I am planning to upgrade my laptop [acer e15 574g] to use ssd [rather than the HDD which is 1TB storage] though I plan to use the HDD as additional disk space in place of the DVD drive using an universal hdd caddy.

1. Should I consider using the low storage space SSD(128GB) since I am using the old HDD for additional storage or buy a ssd with 250GB.

2. I also plan to create a windows installation on a USB from my old HDD and install to SSD rather than cloning it and I dont have the windows product key as the laptop had the windows 10 preinstalled, will this cause a problem for me during installation?

Regards,
Sam

The cost of a 250+ GB SSD now is pretty cheap, you are much better off with a larger one. 90% of the time I see people buy a small SSD they end regretting it.

The Windows license should be linked to your Microsoft account, once you logon to that the Windows activation will follow your account.
