My i5- 6600 usage is on 100% usage at everygame! Pc noob here. i 've read to many threads but none helped me.
This is my set up
Asus h170 pro
i5 6600
Msi gaming x 1080
16gs RAM (don't remember the name)
The games i run atm are R6 siege, AC odyssey, Pubg, Overwatch. I run run them all on fullscreen , I ve tried Razer cortex, I 've done a format 2 weeks ago because i had the same problem. Any help appreciated.
P.S. I use a dual monitor set up if this has something to do with it.

You can't OC on an h170 officially. Honestly I wouldn't upgrade, but if you're REALLY feeling the itch and plan on streaming more, it would be better to sell your CPU and mobo (you can still definitely get decent value for them) and buy either an R5 2600 and mobo or another intel cpu and mobo. To really make it worth it, probably an i7 8700 and b360 motherboard would be the best value intel solution until they release locked versions of the 9700k and 9600k. 7700K's (which would fit into your mobo) are FAR too expensive right now for what they are, in my opinion it makes literally zero sense to buy a used 4C/8T cpu for $240 when you can get an r5 2600 and motherboard for less.
Check Windows Task Manager under the Start Up Tab. That will show all of the applications running constantly in the background.

To clean those up, scan the list for applications with medium and high impact on start up. Highlight those and use the Disable button at the bottom.

Then do the same for applications that you don't use every few days. This oesn't delete the applications. it just prevents them from running in the background constantly. It also fress up system resources.

Next, search Windows for performance, then Select Adjust Windows Appearance and Performance. On that page select Advanced tab, and then Change Virtual Memory

Select Custom and the System Drive, and then I suggest setting the Minimum to 10,000 MB and Maximum to 15,000 MB. You can do the same for other drives.

That will use a small amount of your drive as temporary memory.

Terry4535, it's the contrary, he has to increase the quality settings to put the load on the GPU instead of the CPU.
Rising quality settings will let the GPU create less frames per second and so reduce the CPU load.

I get stuttering only on Rainbow 6 Siege. on the other games its just fine. The problem is even worse when i try to stream!

It is just a mater of perspective. You are looking at it from the perceptive of the game. I was looking at it from the perspective of the system. And I don't know that it will help the situation. That's why i said to try it. It won't hurt anything. If it doesn't help, just change the settings back.

Increasing the game settings will increase the load on the GPU. That is true. But I don't know that would necessarily reduce the load on the CPU. I would expect that to remain at 100 % usage.

Yeah that's why I think the 8700 would be really nice. 8600k can do fine if you use NVENC on the iGPU but the stream quality isn't quite as good as it would be on Ryzen, that's probably 100% fine though for a casual streamer. I stream CSGO occasionally on a 7700HQ laptop with a GTX 1050 and I manage ok with NVENC, just gets really hot lmao.

The only problem there is the cost of the processors. My interest wains quite a bit when prices go north of $300.

Which is where Ryzen shines. Not going to cost more than a 8600k setup but better at streaming.
