Do I need an RGB board for RGB memory to work?

I was thinking about buying the gskill trident RGB memory, but i wasn't sure if it would work in my board. I know it's compatible, but I'm not sure if the RGB part would work. I saw someone else build with the memory with a non rgb board and I didn't see any of the dimms light up. So not sure if it will work on my EVGA board.

No. RBG memory will work on any compatible board.
