I have a Umax powerlook 2100xl but i encountered an error in installation. I successfully installed the right driver which is given by umax, restarted it, but Umax is not showing up in device manager. I tried shifting of cables, reinstalling driver, uninstalling usb hubs, checked it to other pc, but none of these work. I cant able to update its patch file.
Running windows 7 64x bit
magicscan 6.0 installed

Someone help!!!

That scanner is not compatible with Windows 7 if it has a SCSI interface. It has be to converted to a USB interface by the manufacturer in order to make it compatible. See this from Umax: http://www.umax.com/old-umax-powerlook-2100xl-scsi-scanner-and-windows-7/

Bottom line is you could just buy a new USB scanner (or better still a AIO printer) for the same money (or even less) that UMAX will charge you for the USB conversion.
