Hello Everyone,

I am a proud FX owner, I think that the time has come to upgrade the PC,

here's what I came up with

kindly suggest me which build should I go with?

Purpose : Gaming

I will not be overclocking any of these setup

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build 1 - Ryzen 3

1) CPU: Ryzen 3 1300X
2) Motherboard: Gigabyte A320M-S2H

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Build 2 - Ryzen 5

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
Motherboard: Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Common items I currently have or will buy are:
PSU : Corsair 550W (I have)
GPU : Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 3GB (will buy)
Monitor : LG MP68VQ (I have)
K/B & Mouse : Logitech (cheap one) (I have)
HDD: 1TB (WD) (I have)

I am not planning to buy SSD (I am on low budget)

Difference in cost of Build 1 and Build 2 is about Rs.10,000/- (i.e.$136)

Will there be huge difference in performance of build 1 & 2? I mean can hit steady 60FPS with current titles (@mid/high settings with Ryzen 3)

I hope you guys will help me get out of this dilemma.

Thank you.

I'd agree with vapour initially. If you are purchasing one of those, the only answer is the R1600, B350 mobo.

There's two real points here. For right now, the 1300x will just about do. It has 100mhz higher turbo's which may likely give (literally) a few more FPS than the 1600 at stock. However, the important thing here is the 1600 is a much better CPU, and with a relatively simple OC, you can match any speed of the 1300x (stock or OC'ed) and still have 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads. For any games like BF1, BF V, COD WW2, COD Bo4 etc and any new AAA games, the 1600 will serve you much better, and in this case the extra cost for it, and a solid B350 mob is much better value for what it will bring right now, and down the line when...

Wow! you are great. That is also possible, it should help me keep costs low. As I am not planning to overclock the CPU I can go with Ryzen 5 1600 + Gigabyte A320M-S2H, correct?

Thank you everyone for the inputs. I have purchased Ryzen 3 1300X.

One more help please which board should I go with?

Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3
or
Gigabyte B450M-DS3H

B450 is little cheaper

I dont want to go with any other board than Gigabyte, since I have been using Giga boards from last 10 years

Sorry dude, that board is completely out of my budget

Go with the B450. It has better support for higher speed RAM and if you go with a Ryzen 2 series later it has support for it without needing a BIOS update.

Not sure what you mean, you've just quoted the Gigabyte AB350 mobo. That's a B350 like I mentioned. Perhaps you misunderstood.

The R1600 hundred i mentioned, was referring to a Ryzen 1600 CPU. Hope that clears it up.

The 1300x is a decent CPU, but having the 1600 would have afforded you a better experience. Any B350/B450 mob will do nicely with the 1300x though and allow you some OC'ing.

Can't disagree with that.

Hello guys,

I have purchased Ryzen 3 1300X, Gigabyte Aorus B450M & 8GB DDR4 3000MHZ (Corsair).

May be I will upgrade to Ryzen 2nd gen when pocket permits.

Thank you everyone for the help.

It will be a nice little system. OC that 1300x on the B450, you should be able to hit decent numbers (about 3.8, 3.9 ) on the b450. Make sure you have good cooling though.

The 1600 would have given a more fluid experience for demanding games like BF1/BF V, COD BO4 etc, the 1300x is no slough either though.
