RAM runs in single channel while in dual channel

Hey guys, as you can see from the title, I have some problems with my memory.
First off here are my specs:

MOBO Gigabyte G31M-ES2C
RAM Kingston 2x2GB DDR2
CPU Core 2 Quad Q6700
GPU ATi Radeon HD 3870
OS Windows 7 64bit Ultimate

The memory modules are supposedly identical, when I looked at them closely however, one of them has hynix chips and the other has kingston. The motherboard detects both sticks and a total of 4GB of ram in the bios screen. The problem is that when in the screen right after the "all ok" beep sometimes it says that memory runs in single channel or that it runs in dual channel interleaved. 9 times out of 10, it doesn't boot or even enter bios setup when it says that memory runs in single channel, it just reboots again and again or just sticks at that screen :( It only boots or properly does anything if it says that memory runs in dual channel interleaved. I also noticed upon inspection that the kingston chips stick heats up more than the hynix chips one, also they both aren't supported in the memory support list for that specific motherboard. Is that the problem? Or can it be that I do not have totally identical sticks? I also forgot to mention that when I leave one of the sticks and take out the other, it sometimes boots/enters setup and sometimes not(tried in both banks to make sure the banks aren't the problem).

I look forward to ur help guys :D
Thanks in advance.

Solution
looking at that picture there are 2 sticks of ram

1. left side : KVR800D2N6/2G, Part # 99U5429-007.A00LF
2, Right Side: Incomplete # , Part # 9905429.000.A02LF

now this is a confusing thing.... and let me explain you as simply as I can because these number make no sense.

1. Left side marked with Part # 99U5429-007.A00LF, I find that this ram is DDR2-6400 1.8V Dual channel
2. right side market with part # 9905429.000.A02LF, I find that this ram is DDR2-6400 1.8V (unable to find dual or single channel information)
but the images I find of the item is see below shows the other number not the same at all but KPR6400/2GR
pMtrTuS.png
and that number comes up as single channel ram

My suggestion is...

My suggestion is get a pair of proper matching ram sticks on eBay; KVR800D2N6/2G, Part # 99U5429-007.A00LF can be had for 25$ for 4x2gb sticks.
