Hi, I am fairly new to the audio world and was looking hook up a Polk psw 10 inch subwoofer to a pair of Mackie Cr3's. Both systems are self powered. How would I go along doing so?

Depends what's feeding them. A direct hookup to the back of a PC with L+R+Sub outputs should work. PC performs crossover function.

If what you are feeding them have no separate sub output, then one option is, your sub must have L+R inputs and outputs, and your L+R runs through the sub's built-in crossover and your sub should have a crossover knob as well as a gain knob.

No computer has left and right sub outputs.
If your PC has a sub output it will be a mono one combined with the center channel output on the orange audio jack. If the sub has two inputs use the one marked mono or LFE or either left or right if they aren't marked.
If you PC has just left and right full range outputs then you split them so you can connect both the sats and sub. Not as good since the sats are gettting a full range signal but works OK.
