So I have 2*8GB Dual Channel ddr4 2400mhz ram and when i check on CPU Z to be sure everything is right in shows in the DRAM section 931.1 MHZ. now i know you are supposed to multiply it by 2 but 1862 doesnt come close to 2400. I asked my friend which has 2*8gb 2400mhz ram too and he told me his DRAM is 1200.....what could be the problem ? Everywhere else on my pc and command prompt it is writted that i have 2400mhz

Download HWinfo. Install it. Run it and choose "Sensors only". Take a screenshot of the memory section and post screenshots here.

In cases where it is relevant and you are seeking help, then in order to help you, it's often necessary to SEE what's going on, in the event one of us can pick something out that seems out of place, or other indicators that just can't be communicated via a text only post. In these cases, posting an image of the HWinfo sensors or something else can be extremely helpful. That may not be the case in YOUR thread, but if it is then the information at the following link will show you how to do that:

*How to post images in Tom's hardware forums

Run HWinfo and look at system voltages and other sensor readings.

Monitoring temperatures, core speeds, voltages, clock ratios and other reported sensor data can often help to pick out an issue right off the bat. HWinfo is a good way to get that data and in my experience tends to be more accurate than some of the other utilities available. CPU-Z, GPU-Z and Core Temp all have their uses but HWinfo tends to have it all laid out in a more convenient fashion so you can usually see what one sensor is reporting while looking at another instead of having to flip through various tabs that have specific groupings.

After installation, run the utility and when asked, choose "sensors only". The other window options have some use but in most cases everything you need will be located in the sensors window. If you're taking screenshots to post for troubleshooting, it will most likely require taking three screenshots and scrolling down the sensors window between screenshots in order to capture them all.

It is most helpful if you can take a series of HWinfo screenshots at idle, after a cold boot to the desktop. Open HWinfo and wait for all of the Windows startup processes to complete. Usually about four or five minutes should be plenty. Take screenshots of all the HWinfo sensors.

Next, run something demanding like Prime95 version 26.6 or Heaven benchmark. Take another set of screenshots while either of those is running so we can see what the hardware is doing while under a load.

*Download HWinfo

Why do you have a B360 board with an unlocked 8700k CPU?

You are right, there is no XMP or memory overclocking on B360. You need either to set the memory speed manually if there are options to do so and the board allows you to, which it should since that board supports up to 2666mhz memory speeds, or you need a different board. A Z370 or Z390 motherboard would be the right choice for that CPU, but honestly I probably wouldn't recommend spending the money on one JUST to get the memory to run 267mhz faster. You'll never notice that difference anyhow.

Unless you want to run faster memory or overclock the CPU, I'd forget about it or configure it manually by setting the memory speed to 2400mhz manually in the bios.

Also, it's possible that board DOES support XMP profiles with the CPU you have installed. I'd make sure you are not missing one of the sub-sections of the bios by closely checking again because this is what the specs for your board say.

* To support 2666 MHz or XMP memory, you must install an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5 processor.

Which you have, so that speed and XMP profiling should be supported unless I'm off my mark or that is a misleading specification statement.

still no xmp option....i found it on the gigabyte app where it includes "easytune" utility for overcloacking and xmp but it is on disable mode and i cant click on it
i bought the b360 motherboard by mistake...didnt know only the z370 could allow overclocking

"configure it manually by setting the memory speed to 2400mhz manually in the bios"
it is set to 2400mhz...but i cant change it as it is greyed out BUT the bios shows "real time" cpu and ram speeds and frequencies and information which show me that my ram is 1860mhz which is not even 2133mhz as i figured i should see since 2400 is the overclocked speed

First, take off the Relax OC setting where it says Memory enhancement settings and put normal.

Then, take off the manual setting and put Auto (Unless you have a VERY good reason for setting it to manual) where it says memory timing mode. Use the plus or minus keys to change the values. I can see the settings in your screenshot and I can see that they are not greyed out.

Also, on the main M.I.T page, there should be an option for XMP Extreme memory profile. It is NOT on the memory page, it's on the main MIT page.

Can you show me a screenshot where it shows 1860mhz? That's not even a standard memory speed.

I might have been wrong on that. Try the Advanced frequency settings page in MIT. Keep in mind, a lot of modern UEFI bios settings do NOT have a drop down menu. Some of the values MUST be changed using the plus or minus keys, or by typing into the field and then hitting enter to finalize the setting. That one though I'm pretty sure has menu options.
