I built a computer five years ago, made a custom watercooling loop. My motherboard went out recently, so I decided it was time to upgrade to an 8700k. I have a pc guy at a local computer store helping me with the upgrade.

He sent me these photos. What do I need to get my hands on in order to make this work? Am I screwed, does what I need exist out there? Should I just go to air cooling?

First edit my water block is the EK Supremacy 2011

Edit I uploaded the pics to imgur hopefully that fixes the problem

Can't see pics.

I7-8700k is lga1151(v2) so you'd need a Z370/Z390 mobo, DDR4 ram.

There's nothing in a loop that has anything whatsoever to do with the choice of motherboards other than 1 thing, that being the cpu block. All you'll need for a complete transfer is a new lga1151 cpu block, since lga1156-51and 2011-3 have different mounting design.

I'd not go air, unless you plan on ditching the loop entirely, selling off the parts or trade them with the pc guy for parts/labor.

I'm a tad confused? Are you asking if LGA1151 cpu waterblocks exist? If so, yes, dozens of models to pick from.

If you are asking about a part to modify what you already have, I suggest talking to the manufacturer, but I'm sure they would just point you to their LGA115x compatible parts.

You can get a decent water block for less than $100.

Yep. All you need is a new block, one that fits lga115x (all the same spacing).
Lga115x has screws/standoffs that go through the board to a backplate of some sort, lga2011 uses standoffs on the backplate that go through the board, like pic #1. That and the pinholes are spaced differently.
