So i have a Ryzen 5 1600 and a GTX 1060 6GB, and i use Shadowplay a lot, but i play a lot of games with my controller, and Game DVR offers an Xbox like experience, where you press the Home button and a small menu show up with lots of options like record that, start/stop recording and screenshot, i've seen posts about Game DVR hurting the performance but those are like 2015/2016 posts, windows has changed a lot since then with the newer updates, so my question is, is Game DVR a nice option to Shadowplay? am i gonna have a hit in performance just by using game dvr? thanks

Why not just try it and see?

That said, personally I prefer ShadowPlay. My latest thing with capture is to do an entire video walkthrough of difficult games like The Evil Within and Ghost Recon Wildlands on hardest mode (minus Tier One of GRW), with no upgrades (and no HUD in GRW).

That kind of scenario often means having to play missions several times to come up with best tactics, so having the 20 min Instant Replay feature of ShadowPlay is kinda nice for that. Not sure if Game DVR has that, but I would not trust it to work as well if it does.
