For gaming, how many cores and threads should the cpu have to run smoothly?

I was going to go with a r3 2200g with rx 570 8gb, but then I saw a video saying that 4 cores 4 threads was not going to be enough to run 1080p 60fps smoothly. It would run at 1080p 60fps, but there would be much stuttering.

First off, don't believe everything you see on YT.

Next for the games you listed the 2200G is plenty at 1080P/60hz however to get the most from Ryzen you'd want to pair that CPU with a good B450 motherboard for overclock and for memory you'll want 3200mhz, at least 8gb (2x4gb).

I've played GTA V, Fallout 4 & Warframe at 1080P on a dual core (quad thread) G5400 and GTX 750 ti and I can run those games around 60 FPS on Low-Medium settings. That being said the 2200G & RX 570 are much better so you'll have no issues.

Right now, I'm a console gamer and the only games that I really play are skyrim, fallout 4, overwatch, r6siege, warframe, and gta v.

On pc I plan to play the same games. Idk which is the most demanding since it's all a pretty similar experience on ps4

I'm like 12 years into console gaming and I've never really complained about anything until these past few years that I've had the ps4, the dualshock 4 controllers seem to glitch out with a sprinting glitch where my character stops for no reason every couple of months and I have to get them replaced and it costs quite alot. Buying like 3 controllers a year and ps plus on top of that. It just seems like it's burning a hole in my pocket.

On the other hand, I hear that games are pretty cheap on pc, free online, all of my close friends are on pc, and I will be getting a mechanical keyboard (gigabyte Force k83) and I hear that they last a pretty long time. The idea of building a pc also seems very appealing to me and I would like the games to look good, but if they don't it isn't really a big deal since I can still get quite a bit of fun out of them.
