ive got my i5-8600k at 5ghz and if i run prime95 on stress test with all workers, one core (core 2) goes up to 84°C max after running it for a while
and it seems my average is around 74°C, are these normal temps?

my specs are:

CPU: i5-8600k
GPU: gtx 1070
PSU: 600 watt
COOLER: Water cooler ML250
MTB: MSI Z370 GAMING PRO CARBON
RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400MHZ

First of, good job on getting your 8600K stable at 5GHz...

As to the temps, for a 5GHz overclock on a 240mm AIO, those temps are about right...With regards to the near 10 degrees difference in one of the cores, is this just occasionally or is there always a 8 to 10 degree difference between core 2 and the others?

If there is always a 10 degree difference, it may just be that the cooler needs to be reseated and is not on perfectly.

Which Prime test exactly? If it was for small ffts only, then I'd say the temps are okay at average 74c. But if that on the blend test then it's too high.

What voltage are you using on the CPU? Are you OC'ing through the bios? Also, what PSU have you got in there. Pushing OC on CPU and/or GPU will push PSU's. 600w should be enough for the OC but if it's a weak PSU i'd reconsider doing much.

it seems to be occasional but it does have a temp difference of 5 most of the time
