i5 6600k & gtx 1050 ti work for a 240hz monitor for league of legends?

Sorry to bring up this old thread butbis it still true the upgrade to 7700k not worth it? I want to play on a 240hz monitor with a 1050ti. Only at 1080p of course. Main game is league of legends. Thanks

Even though the GPU isnt getting used anywhere near the CPU? The game is more CPU in intensive. What im asking is will this CPU be able to handle the hz on the monitor at 240 on the game? As iv seen the 1050ti can more than handle it at 1080p.
