Gta V hard freeze my new laptop randomly whenever i play, usually within 5-45mins mark. The same thing happened with Dota 2, but only once so far.
I thought maybe the fps is too high, and so I used Dxtory to cap GTA V fps at 60. No more hard freeze afterwards. I tried limit it at 120fps and also no more freezing.
Without limiting fps while Dxtory is on, it also freeze eventually. But it took alot longer.
Without Dxtory on, sometimes the game stutters randomly while playing. And most of the time before a complete pc freeze, it will stutter for a split-second.
Why is this happening?
Things i'd done:
Power option is set to high performance, tried changing the power management mode in Nvidia Control Panel to adaptive but still freezes, then swapped back to optimal.
Test done:
furmark, 3d mark, memtest
sfc/scannow, chkdsk, defrag
All with no problems.

I do not understand as why with Dxtory the game doesn't completely lock up the laptop. What is it that Dxtory has/altered that solved the freezing issue? Because without using Dxtory it will freeze the whole laptop again. Really appreciate a solution to better understand what's happening. Thanks in advanced.
