ASRock A320M-DGS - no video, no beeps

Hi folks,

I just mounted my first setup consisting in a ASRock A320M-DGS with AMD Ryzen 3 2200G CPU.
(for reference, here is the board manual).

It doesn't boot. Although Ryzen 3 has an integrated Vega 8, there is no video output on the DVI connector. I also tried connecting a chassis speaker -> no beeps.
The 2 fans (chassis + CPU cooler) work correctly. Pressing the POWER button 10 seconds successfully turns it off, pressing the RESET button successfully resets fans.

I reduced the setup to a minimum : CPU + Cooler, 1 RAM module (have another one, tried switching , doesn't help), main ATX power cable + CPU 12V power cable, front panel pins, chassis speaker pins.

Here is an overview (with CPU now removed) :

Here are front panel and chassis speaker pins :

I tried clearing the CMOS: doesn't help.
What do you think ? Before I return the product, are there any more tests I can make ?

Solution
^^Yup. Sounds like you don't have a later BIOS revision on there.

Any 300 series board that has been updated to support Raven Ridge APUs should have a sticker on the box clearly labeling as such.
You may need to update your BIOS for the new Raven Ridge(ryzen 2) CPUs to work.
The Ryzen 3 2200G is supported from the P4.40 BIOS version (Link Here).

Updating the BIOS is only possible with a ryzen 1st gen CPU. You should go to the store from where you bough the motherboard and ask them for a BIOS update.

Hi ChumP, Barty1884,
Thanks for the quick answers, you're fantastic guys !

Barty, this may be the sticker you're referring to ?

I just called vendor support ; I mentioned this BIOS version issue and they acknowledged it might explain this.
Thing is, I don't have an older Ryzen CPU to check (this is my first time...).

I'll just return the whole package, it's under prime warranty and they'll test all the hardware again.
Meanwhile, I'll accept your answers as solutions. Thanks again !

Hi ijoin,

I returned the product, and after 2 weeks (which is basically max. delay) they sent it back. Just, it was now working.
The attached sheet didn't mention any actions or replacements done.
CPU was visibly the same (recognized thermal paste patterns) ; motherboard and RAM modules could have been swapped.

My guess : BIOS wasn't up-to-date as advertised, or RAM modules were incompatible. They fixed it silently.
My advice : if you can't return it, try an alternate RAM module. Here is a compatibity list.
If it still doesn't work, and they sold motherboard+CPU as a bundle, they have to fix it. Call support.

I return the motherboard, and tested the rig with the new one
Found that the problem lies in the RAM
Changed the RAM with new one from APACER and it works well now

Thanks
