Hey, i'm a complete noob when it comes to electronics, and i'm trying to install the honeywell atlanta D142 doorbell.

The guy who did the electricity at my home provided a Cat 6 cable to wire the doorbell, the manual on the box says i basicly need 4 wires, while i only have 2? i'll provide some pictures to make my point clear. Did i buy the wrong doorbell? Is there another way to wire this doorbell?

Manual:

This is how the cables are wired atm:

I agree. Though I don't think the switch can be installed across the bell like that. That will probably explode the switch.

Hopefully that doorbell switch is carrying only the 6V from the 4 AA batteries, and that diagram looks like a relay for switching on the high voltage to the ringer. However, I am in the US, and don't feel like offering advice on 220V circuits or attempting to use translated documents (Seems to be a Germanic language)

doorbells here in the US run 12V, that 6V must be german application and that 230V going to the transformer must be german applicaton as well, here in the US we run 110V to the transfromer and it outputs 12V

it's kind of hard to hurt yourself with low current 12V - do you have a transformer already in svc, and you're just replacing the doorbell button or are you installing from scratch?
