High CPU temp

Hi,

So recently, I've been noticing high temperatures in my CPU - which would cause my system to run slower. FPS will decrease, as well as the speed of the computer in general.

I had a H115i Pro recently installed to my i7 6700k. When my CPU is around 50%, all cores tend to go 50-60 Celsius.

Any ideas of what is the problem? I worry that the installation of the water-cooler was not correctly set up, even though its unlikely.

I have a 1070
16gb ram
z170 deluxe MB

Thanks

I don't find this abnormal and I don't see it as a problem.

...and I definitely don't see it affecting your performance.

If your performance is suffering like that it's NOT due to 50-60C temps.

Am I missing something?

Is it possible that streaming is causing it to become slower? I don't want to believe that my pc cant handle a stream.

Yeah, jay32267 is right. That's perfectly fine. Nothing to worry about.

What I think you meant was the CPU might be thermal throttling which would cause FPS drops or stuttering, but this only happens when the CPU gets TOO hot, as in 85-95c. It's slightly different for each different architecture or chip revision.

Even though you have a decent CPU, it's not the best while streaming with dropped frames and glitchy video output. Here's toms own article on it and it's an interesting read : https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/game-streaming-encoding-coffee-lake-ryzen,5326-6.html

Your CPU is much like the 7700 that replaced it, and that is a mediocre gaming/streaming chip. You need to look at settings both in game and the software used to output the video, and drop the settings to maintain playable FPS, or at least smooth.
