Hi guys just have a very quick queston. Can the AMD Phenom X 9950 fit and work on my ABIT AX78 motherboard?I found here that it can and just wanted some other sort of stamp of approval:http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ABIT/AX78.html .If something is a problem, like the 125w of power consumption, maybe an AMD Phenom X4 9650?Thanks in advance guys, all of you on this website are always helpful with anything I post!

Not sure . . but if you've got something in that motherboard already, and are planning on getting a faster processor for it... don't.

Unless you're getting it for free, or near free.

What are you upgrading from? How much is this going to cost you?

I'm upgrading from a phenom 8450 triple core 2.1GHz.It'll cost me about 20.30$.I'm also buying 2 more gigs of ddr2 ram as well as a Radeon HD 7770,and all of that together would be roughly 60.90$.I'm going to build a PC from scratch as well in January to March. It'll have an Intel i5 3570k , ASUS H61M-C mobo,16 GB ddr3 1600MHz ram,Gigabyte G1 GAMING 1060 6gb,2TB Hitachi,Corsair CX600 600w and a case.So this little 60$ upgrade would last be about 3-4 months, but my parents are also gonna use this pc when I build my new one.My current power supply is 550w BTW.

Ah, gotcha - at that price, and given what you're starting with, worth it.

I've just seen too many posts where people are spending more money for just the CPU, when their existing one is maybe about 90% of what the new one would be...
