[SOLVED] I can't find out what's wrong with my PC.

Specs:
i5 6600k 3.5 GHZ
EVGA GTX 980 classified
16gb ram
MSI Z170a motherboard
This PC is somewhat aged at 4-5 years, the cpu, motherboard, ram and gpu
were replaced about 2 years ago.

So my problems have to do with random CPU over heating when I switch from game to game. The computer slows down over all. Sometimes even downloading can make the PC slower. I normally restart my PC to resolve any of these issues but I'm pretty sure it's taking a toll having to force shutdown so much. When it lags, it lags to the point where I can't even press shutdown from the start menu due to heavy lag and only on the actual button on my PC holding it for a couple seconds gets it done. Recently this attempt deleted many of my files for the game it froze in. While leaving my control panel open a couple times only CPU would spike in performance. Weird thing is this happened to last CPU as well so I don't know what's wrong. What might need a replacement? Should I just consider getting new PC?

Also sometimes if I leave my PC on without being there and it goes into sleep mode, my Bios settings get wiped and they always try to make me press F3 to re-adjust the settings or use default factory. Don't know the cause of this either.

Two words: Fresh start.

That's a lot of weird issues. Definitely far from normal. You could have a defective motherboard or something else. Personally, I learned the solution to these issues long ago. Just get new stuff. I had this weird issue with my ASUS Prime where if I installed an NVMe SSD Windows would always boot to 4:3 resolution and my GPU would take a few minutes to be detected. I asked on here about it and speculated the GPU and SSD were somehow interfering with one another because theyre both PCIe. Then everyone said the NVMe slot doesn't share bandwidth with the GPU lane. But still some thing about them both being PCIe was causing the issue. When I switched to SATA M.2, the problem vanished. This happened on TWO of the...

This happened on TWO of the same MB. Of course, there probably was a way to fix it if I was a tech genie. But since MB's are cheap and you can get a good one for a little over $100 I just said f*** it and bought a new one. No more issues.

My answer is, whenever you have insanely crazy unexplainable issues like this, just get new stuff. Don't bother with it unless its a small problem. Even if you fix it which is unlikely, it still means theres something wrong with your components. Would you want to drive a car knowing it'll break down on you at any moment, even if its currently running ok? Im a new PC builder, just built two and my first was just months ago and Ive never had these issues and youre probably more experienced than me. So clearly you have faulty components. If I were you, I'd get a new MB, liquid cooling and reinstall and upgrade windows to an SSD.
