Hi. I'm going to have a new gaming PC assembled and the guy told me I can bring over my current SSD (Samsung 940 PRO 256g). This way I won't have to buy a new copy of windows. Is that something he can do and would it cause any issues? Thanks!

it depends on what version of windows you have. if its windows 7 or 8 then you won't be able to use it on your new PC. if its windows 10 you may be able to transfer the licence over with the activation troubleshooter. this document will help and make sure you link your license to a MS account and have windows 10 fully updated before changing PC's

Thanks for the quick reply. I do have Windows 10 so hopefully it works so I don't have to spend another $100 on windows.
