Hello guys,

I am building a new PC with Ryzen 5 2600X. Primary usage would be Photoshop editing, productivity and limited gaming. I have no plans of overclocking. Below is my configuration -

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk
SSD: SAMSUNG 860 EVO M.2 2280 1TB
PSU: Seasonic Focus 550 Gold SSR-550FM 550W 80+ Gold
Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SSC GAMING ACX 3.0
Case: Corsair Carbide Series CC-9011050-WW SPEC-01

I am stuck with selecting compatibel RAM for the build from below list.

> G.SKILL Flare X Model F4-2400C15D-16GFX
https://www.newegg.com/global/in-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232519&ignorebbr=1

> G.SKILL TridentZ Model F4-3000C15D-16GTZ
https://www.newegg.com/global/in-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231911&ignorebbr=1

> CORSAIR Vengeance RGB CMR16GX4M2C3600C18
https://www.newegg.com/global/in-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820236215&ignorebbr=1

Out of the 3, G.Skill TridentZ seems to hit the sweet spot but I would like to know -
1) Are these RAMs compatible with the CPU and board?
2) Is Flare X is better value overall or Corsair Vengeance RGB worth the premium?

Thanks

Looking at boards specs it "only" supports up to " 3466 MHz" so 3600mhz is abit too much although you could underclock it and maybe tighten timings. Depends on the cpu (memory controller) as well if this speed is possible.

Think i would get the middel option by you described as "sweet spot" myself, it's lower timings should help as well and maybe by upping/loosening the timings abit could you reach 3200mhz,but that's just a guess, needs testing.

Looked in the QVL and Corsair ram is only tested up to 3200mhz so hard to say if 3466 will work, G.Skill up to 3466mhz,but only with Samsung chips. Think looking at the timings that the 3000mhz Tridentz are some form of Samsung although maybe not the "B" die.

Can't look at the ram at Newegg...

Can't look at the ram at Newegg since links don't seem to work.
