Hi all,
I have a problem with my laptop Asus Vivobook Pro 15, its cooling fans (it has 2 fans) have high speed very often without an evident cause, I can't understand which process or group of processes are causing the high speed.
The laptop has 2 graphics cards: Intel HD graphics 630 and Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050.

It seems related to Intel Graphics card because CPU usage is always low (20% max) and als Nvidia GPU usage is low (25% max).
I saw that when Intel GPU usage is over 50% fans high speed happen but I can't know what process is causing this high GPU usage because in Nvidia control panel I set Nvidia as 3D graphic card for all softwares.
I don't use the laptop for heavy graphic processing softwares, the most used group of softwares are PHP storm, Wamp and MySql to do software developments.

I think it could be helpful an historical summary:
I worked with the PC for several months without any problem until fan started to have high speed continuously unexpectedly so I started to check processes, CPU, GPU, malware, ecc..without found a solution.
So I thought there was a problem related to hardware/firmware so I reset the PC to factory settings and effectively it worked fine for 3 weeks, one day I shutdown the laptop which was working fine, the day after I restart the PC and it started again with high fan speed, without an evident reason.

Please help me to understand what's causing the problem.
Thanks.

Asus Vivobook Pro 15
Windows 10 Home 64 bit
RAM 16 GB
SSD 512 GB + SATA 1TB
Intel Graphics HD 630
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050

Solution
you can play around in the nvidia control panel and in manage 3d settings you should be able to set what gpu you want to use for certain programs or globally. i know i had an issue with my laptop where obs streaming did not like the switching between intel igpu and nvidia dgpu. otherwise you can use throttlestop to somewhat manage and play around with your intel cpu, there are some good guides on optimizing skylake and forward cpus to balance performance. otherwise, i would globally set nvidia control panel to the intel graphics since they are far less power hungry and then only dedicate the gtx1050 to come on specifically for certain programs like games or other software that utilize it for rendering.
