Ram too slow

So I had a 16gb of ddr4 vengeance running at 3000mhz. Recently I added 16gb more of the same ram. I made sure that it has the same timing as well( c16) . So now my ram wont go past 2400mhz. When I manually put it into 3000mhz, after I exit bios the mobo gives 3 beeps, reload, gives one more beep reloads again and then gives a message saying that there was a problem at boot and my ram was changed to 2133mhz. Any solution?
My specs
Ryzen 5 2600
32gb corsair vengeance 3000mgz c16
Asus b450 - f gaming

The memory may be the same but unless you're ordering kits, you can run into issues with bus speeds and such. The only thing you can do is either return the RAM and stay with 16gb or try return it and buy a 32GB kit and then sell your original 16GB or save it as backup.

uh... no? Unless it's a cheap mobo...

Looked at the QVL of this motherboard for the ram and above 2800mhz there where no sets mentioned that did work with 4 sticks, even when 4 stick sets were mentioned. Maybe they just didn't test or it's hard to get it to work.
Try all the sticks at 2666mhz. You might need to feed some extra voltage to the memory controller to get higher, still looking at the bios for your motherboard to see what it mentiones (which is very little coming to that).

In retrospect i guess you tried using DOCP to get to 3000mhz?

I tried to change from the 2 sets of 2x8 to a full kit of 4x8 I still get the the same issue. In fact I get it once I set the XMP or the DOCP to the proper 3000mhz and cl16 timing. My guess is that the motherboard doesn't support the cl16 but rather needs cl15. I guess I'll stick to 2400.hz or try to overcloack manually. Is 1.5 ok for ddr4 ram?

Dram voltage of 1.5V is stock for ddr3 ram,for ddr4 ram you use 1.2V.

If going for DOHC/XMP and looking at ~3000mhz you probably will see 1.35V,but not more than that! Only serious overclockers might go beyond that, but they wouldn't care as much for how long this would run/last,they care about the overclock itself. And i mean in this case those who care about setting records.

What is the exact partnr of your ram? Can look with cpu-z under the spd tab.

Agreed, wouldnt go higher than 1.35 maybe 1.4v at most.

Could try adjust procodt ohms too, might help.

If no dice, could you rma for 2x 16gb?

I don't want to rma for 2x16gb the reason is that I really like how the 4 sticks look together.
When I do xmp it does go up to 3000mhz and 1.35v which is the ram rated voltage. But in order for it to work i have to downclock to 2666mhz. If i dont the bios does the same thing. 3 long beeps turn off. Turn in 1 short(post) beep turn off, turn on and prompt to go to bios to check on ram because there was a failure during boot.
I got a corsair vengeance rgb 4x8gb cl16
P.s.
I believe that my motherboard needs a cl15 tu.ing ram at this speed so that it would work properly with ryzen 5 2600

Cl 15 possibly. Try manually adjust timings and freq , not use xmp.

Adjust ohms 60 or 53. Add a bit more dram volt. People are running 1.4v so can go a little higher above 1.35, maybe 1.37/38/39 etc.

May need to apply a little more cpu voltage too to help memory controller.

Is your bios upto date? Memory support has improved with Ryzen2 though id still prefer Bdie ICs from Samsung on ram. Most CL 14 Gskill and Corsair run Samsung ICs and some CL15. CL15+ can either be Samsung, Hynix or Micron.

Support for Hynix and Micron has improved though but imo Samsung is still safest.

Can you walk me through with the timing adjustment? I'm a noob when it comes to that. Also I think corsair is running their ram on hynix based dimms

Easiest way to learn cas timings is watch youtube. Search along the lines of adjust memory cas timings and you'll get videos showing how. If you can search your board specifically or similar to recognise bios settings then that's even better.

Example of 15 15 15 35 memory. When entering cas timings manually they're the top four fields as you'll seen in videos, they'll show where. All motherboards are quite the same how they order cas timings.

You'll see once you watch some videos, usually they'll do as follows. There are acronyms for each cas timing but for ease sake it goes like ( keeping to the 15 15 15 35 example)

15
15
15
35

Sometimes they can have the last cas timing (35) up the top so;

If you give a partnr could we give better advice, look it up and see what it says on the site. Like i said can you check via cpu-z => spd tab. (freeware) or do the next,

download hwinfo,
install and open it=click run,
close the top window which is the system summary,
in the main window at the left top click "save report",
at the bottom of the next window check "short text report",
after that you'll see what's in the pc,
copy by clicking "copy to clipboard" and rightclick+paste in your next respons
is a usefull tool anyway.
