8gb 3200mhz vs 4x2 2666mhz

Hello.I am planning to get a Ryzen 5 2400g, no gpu. Wondering which ram will be better? 4x2 2666mhz ram or 8gb 3200mhz ram? No plans for upgrading. Thanks

1. Ryzen likes faster RAM
2. iGPU likes faster RAM
3. Single stick or single channel RAM mode runs slower than dual channel mode. Remember number 1 and 2.
4. 4x 2GB <-- 4 sticks of 2GB? this is not effective at all, you are wasting RAM slots. It is better to grab either 2x 4GB (2 sticks of 4GB) or 2x 8GB (2 sticks of 8GB).

If you are asking which combo is better, go for 2x4GB 2666MHz without any doubt. You will lose much more performance with a single stick (single channel) than lower memory clock.

Hello, thanks for all the quick help. Thing is, in my country, Bangladesh, ram prices are ridiculously high. We have to ship them and stuffs. So i am on quite a budget here so cant really get dual channel 3200mhz. @lutfij sorry i dont know how to reply. XD

@guanyu210379 i meant 2 4gb sticks, not 4 2gb sticks. Thanks.

@herrwizo, thanks. I am planning to get geil evo spear 2666mhz ram which seems to be the only 2666mhz 4gb ram available here. Is it any good?
