I recently changed IDE to AHCI successfuly in BIOS..my hard drives are recognized and are working properly, but my CD/DVD reader/burner only reads discs, and won't burn them, neither in Nero nor in IMGBurn.
I'm using windows 7 64 bit. I tried switching the cables in ports, same result.
How can I fix this?

You can't just change from IDE to AHCI on the fly with Windows 7. You'll need to make registry changes first before doing that. The real proper way of changing in Win 7 would be to switch to AHCI in BIOS then reinstall Windows from scratch.

I did make registry changes in regedit.
Okay, thanks.

Hi. Yes I just bought the proper ones, just trying to burn a 1.4 gb PS2 game on the DVD.
And it is a DVD burner :)
I just didn't use it in a long time, I used up 3 yellow sata slots for myhard drives, and the 2 other purple ones didn't work on IDE, now they do, but the burner is malfunctioning.
