My tablet's storage interface operates at GT2 through an M.2 slot. it supports both SATA and NVMe drives..

I am looking for a 500GB SSD and i intend to dual boot windows 10 and Ubuntu ..

I do the following tasks:

Running Microsoft onenote, nebo and other note taking apps...
Running chrome browser for web browsing..
Running Texstudio, lyx and texmacs..
Running sagemath, wxmaxima, Octave, cantor and other algebra systems..
Running programming IDEs(like geany, kdevelop and eric) .. text editors and etc
Compiling programs in python and C++
Running PDF viewers like Okular or evince and pdf annotation apps..

now, is it worth it to get a samsung 970 evo NVMe SSD ?

or should i stick to a very good SATA3 SSD ? what is your recommendation for a good M.2 SATA3 SSD ?

Not 100% sure what Dell refers to with GT2 vs GT4, but that is probably the PCIe interface.
And will not impact SATA III drive speeds.
