I hade Win 10 on my Inspiring 7559. I installed Win 7 because I find it better. I had downloaded several drivers for win 7 before doing so, but unfortunately not the Lan, WiFi or USB drivers. The 7559 does not have a cd/DVD disc drive. So here I am with Win 10 in the windows.old file but without any usb, wifi, or Lan to access the net to get all the drivers I do need. Is there a way to activate my old Win 10 OS?

If you had Windows 10 prior to your installation of Windows 7, with the prior OS being activated out of the box, then a reinstall of the OS will retrieve the key from the board's BIOS. To note, the activation key is stored on the BIOS chip on your motherboard which is why if you were to change the board or the BIOS chip(physically, not BIOS update) then you'd need to input the activation key.

I'd ask you to create a bootable USB installer using Windows Media Creation Tools and then plugging it into an available USB port, set BIOS boot to UEFI and hopefully you should be making progress back to Win 10.

Ok will research what u r saying since I'm not tech lingo savvy and try that out. Yeah not a simple solution for me so it seems I will spend $110 to get it back up. Win 10 OEM off Amazon, download all and every single drvr I can get for Win 7 then install it from Win 10 again.
This time making sure I dnld the WIFI, LAN, and USB drvrs for Win 7 onto the Win 10 dwnlds. #1 don't have access to WMCT. #2 Don't know how to set a BIOS to anything.
Oh well it was a nice thought that I might be able to do it for free.
