Hi,

I currently have the bose acoustimass system with a passive subwoofer and it produces close to no bass, I hate it. I would like to find a good speaker system 5.1 or 2.1 with a lot of bass. My price range would be up to $500.

Thanks,
Felix

You can get a pair of JBL Professional 308P MKII's and a 10" Polk sub for $500.

You need 2.

Sub.

You don't need an amp with that since everything's powered. Plenty of other options in that price range as well. All these are single unless it states otherwise.

Yamaha HS7.

PreSonus Eris E8.

Klipsch R-15PM.

Add that Polk sub to any of those and you'd forget all about, 'no highs no lows BOSE.'

You can also go the amp and passive speaker route.

Assuming that you are using the Bose speakers with a TV and a standard AV receiver the simplest way to get the bass you want is to add a self powered subwoofer and continue to use the Bose for everything else. Your budget makes replacing all the speakers difficult. You can certainly find a powered sub within your price range.
Leave the Bose connected as it is now. Connect the new subwoofer to the sub output of the AVR. In the AVR speaker menu set all the speakers to small and sub woofer to yes. Adjust the bass to your liking.
