i just swapped out my psu for a couple of days with an old psu and the water pump on my liquid cooler stopped working.i have to say the psu doesn't have an 8 pin eps but only a 4 pin atx one .could it be because of that?

Solution
Hi you should just be able to test your pump by jump starting the pump independently of the PC:

This should then tell you if it is just the powersupply as that is what I think the issue is...not getting enough when everything is connected.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. List them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

What is the make and model of your old PSU and how old is it? Why would you want to drop down toa PSU that doesn't have the necessary connector for your board?

i went to one of my old psu's because my current one broke and i just wanted to use my pc while i get a new one.but i'm just wondering if the pump is broken or just doesn't have enough power
