So.. I was about to build new computer and I got ASRock Z370 Taichi with i7-9700k but it seems like I need to update the BIOS to make the CPU work. I currently do not have a processor which works on Z370 Taichi but I can get my friend's i5-8600 to update the BIOS. Will it work?

As long as you're currently running BIOS version P1.60 or later, yes. You can use your friend's I5-8600 to upgrade your BIOS.

That depends on the retailer and how long that particular box has been sitting on the shelf/in storage. It may be running the initial BIOS. It may be running version P1.60 (most likely), it MIGHT even be running version P3.20. Check to see if there is a sticker on the box exterior which states which BIOS version is installed. Otherwise, you'll need to install it with your CPU to find out which BIOS version you're running.
