Hi all! I'm making this post to ask about a new PC I'm going to be building. I want to build a mini itx PC that can run modern games at 60fps in 1080p. The maximum budget is £700 (Not including the cost of Windows). The current parts I'm looking at are:

CPU: Intel i3 8100

GPU: EVGA - Gtx 1060 6gb SC Gaming

Mobo: ASRock - H310M-ITX/ac

Memory: 2 x 4gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2400

Case: Thermaltake Core v1

PSU: Corsair CXM 450W

Storage: WD - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

I was just wondering if there's any improvements I can make or any incompatibilities I haven't spotted?
Thanks everyone!

Two "starter" thoughts:

SSD or NVMe instead of HDD.

Check the total component wattages - that 450 watt PSU may not be enough or, at least, limit room for growth.

Thanks for the reply! Do you think a 550 Watt PSU will be enough? Also do you think it would be better to get a small SSD just for windows to combo with a HDD, or just get a bigger SSD that can store all my files?

My thoughts:

550 watt PSU - go for more wattage via a strongly reviewed and recommended product. Always plan for growth and the future.

As for SSD: yes. I favor a simple SSD for OS and then another drive for data. Do not put all of the proverbial "eggs" into one basket much less a large basket.

You should always have at least 2 backups. One on site and another off-site.

The problem, for many folks, is to actually verify that the backups are available and are working/readable.

Your backup plan should include failure testing.

E.g.: RIGHT NOW: your computer's drive just crashed and is totally unresponsive. You may just as well throw away the drive.

Where is your data - can you get it back?
