Hi everyone so i got this motherboard gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 and i want to update the bios so i go to the web :http://es.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-870a-ud3rev_30#support-dl and go to the download section and put windows 7 64bit and download the latest update but when i extract it then try to start it, it says is not compatible with my OS version wich is odd since i have a 64bit(i made sure) and downloaded the win7 64bit update.

i want to update it since from time to time my screen just goes black and my pc does a series of beeps wich i investigated and found out its the ram,ive had this problem before and fixed it everytime by doing some maintence to the ram sticks but everytime i fix it and the problem comes back its harder to fix everytime, so i investigated a bit more and a lot of people in different forums suggest that my bios needs an update.

thx in advance

with new mb you dont need any software to update your bios. once you download the bios file and unzip it put it on a usb stick. place it in the root of the stick and not in any folder. plug the stick in and reboot the pc. at power up there be a fuction key (f10) to go into the bios updater or go into the bios and under the utlity tab is the updater too. whe nthe updater starts it ask for the location of the bios file point it to the usb stick. whe nit finds it it be named the same as it is on the usb stick. let the program run. then when the update is done and your system reboots you have to go back in and reset your ram speed and any changes you did as the bios will be reset to factory defaults.
