D-Link 1203 conv router issues

When I disconnect my D-Link conv 1203 from my ISP Provided router after setup it doesn’t work does it always have to be tethered to the router. I thought the point was after it is setup I can move the points A and other points anywhere? If I leave the main point A plugged into my router it works when I disconnect it doesn’t.

  3. Correct no one can give me a straight answer
  4. like my teacher use to say , read the manual :https://media.dlink.eu/ftp/products/covr/covr-c1203/documentation/COVR-C1203_man_revA_1-01_eu_multi_20180411.pdf

on page 6 it clearly states "On Covr Point A, LAN port 1 is designated as the WAN port that connects to your modem."
which means it COVR-A it is wired to your modem/router yes with a ethernet cable.
