I have an i7 7700k paired with an ASUS Prime Z270-A. Before getting the 7700k I was using a 7600k. With the 7600k, any multiplier I tried would work but the 7700k it will not go over a 47 multiplier. CPU Z shows my multiplier as 8-48 or 8-49 depending on the multiplier i apply in BIOS but AIDA and AI Suite 3 both only show 47 and it never goes above 4.7ghz. Any ideas?

First, update to the latest bios version, if you are not already on it.

Second, reset the CMOS settings in the BIOS by powering off, unplugging the cable from the power supply, removing the CMOS battery for five minutes and during those five minutes press the power button on the case for 30 seconds. After the five minutes, reinstall the CMOS battery, plug the power supply back into power and power on the system. Go into the bios and check to see if you are able to now make changes to the CPU multiplier.

It's likely you might need to change the AI overclock tuner setting to manual or XMP, and the core settings to per core (Or synced, but I like per core much better as a granular approach that doesn't force cores to full frequency when they don't need to be, giving them time to rest and extending the lifespan and reducing package temps) before changing the multipliers.

HA! You're right. I didn't even notice that it was your thread. Heh. Funny.

If you have a thumb drive, your bios should support taking screenshots and saving them to a USB thumb drive by pressing F12 while you are on any bios screen. Please take some screenshots of each of the CPU and overclocking screens and sub menus and post them here.
