If I connected an HDMI Splitter to my PC, then attached 2 HDMI to VGA adapters, then recombined the signal into one via VGA splitter, which would go into my monitor, would that work? my monitor supports up to 2048x1536@80hz, and one HDMI to VGA adapter supports only up to 1920x1080@60hz.

P.S. It's a CRT.

i have 2, but i am mainly planning to use the crt. i will use the second monitor as well occasionally, but that isnt the problem. because the adapter i have only supports a max of 1920x1080@60hz, i wanted to see if i could take one hdmi signal, split it into two, convert both signals to analog using a second identical adapter, and recombine them.

I would recommend using 2 separate cables since the GTX1070Ti offers more than one port. You need a display port to go over 1080p60hz so I would recommend getting one of those and then using HDMI for your second monitor.

it has nothing to do with my second monitor. i think i was able to run a 4k monitor at 60hz with an hdmi cable connected to my pc. the question is in the description. read it. it has nothing to do with a dual monitor setup.
