Hey! So i have a problem with my GPU, it doesnt display anything anymore. It started 4 days ago with random crashes were the screen would freeze into a random color (blue, green, yellow etc.) than it would go back to normal screen but in a freezed state that was only fixable by a restart (holding powerbutton). So like the title says i need to know which one died. These things i know
1: when the GPU is inserted in the PCIe-slot and i turn on the pc the LED on the GPU is on and the fans spin.
2: When the GPU is inserted the PC wont post so no screen output, mouse and keyboard dont turn on etc.
3: The crashes happend multiple times in a day when gaming, then were gone for a full day and then came back quicker and quicker until no post (point 2)

My specs are:
sapphire r9 280x GPU
Coolermaster B600 PSU
msi b85 g41 motherboard

So has anyone experienced this or knows which part is most likely at fault? Please help because im at a loss. If you need to know anything else just ask.

Solution
Parts do fail.
I think it unlikely that your motherboard is at fault.

The most likely failure is the graphics card.
Have you overclocked the card past factory specs?
If so, back it off.

Next most likely is the psu.

With pc failures about the only way to diagnose is by swapping in known good replacement parts.

I think your psu may be tier 6 on this quality list:

Over time, a psu can deteriorate and your r9-280X is a very power hungry card.

See if you can't test with a known good psu of 650w or so.

If you can't borrow one, buy a replacement psu from a shop with a decent return policy.
Expect to pay 15% if you need to return the psu.
The Seasonic focus 650w would be...

The Seasonic focus 650w would be an excellent replacement.

Your R9-280X only had a 2 year warranty originally.
I suspect they knew it would not last.

Perhaps it is time to justify a gpu upgrade.
GTX1060/1070 perhaps. Either would use less power.
