[SOLVED] Frames dropping & performance drop suddenly

Hi guys,

I bought a new computer a few months ago and have been enjoying playing all games on low settings to max out performance. I was getting at least 200~ FPS in OverWatch and was slowly climbing the ranks.

Today, I cooked some food and opened up my porch door to ventilate my house. I left my computer on and left my house for 2-3 hours to run some errands. My PC is stationed near my porch door, where it was 35 F outside. I keep my house around 70 F. When I came home, I closed my porch door, turned on my heat, and fired up my computer. When I loaded it up, the tower made this incredibly loud vibrating sound. For the past few hours, my frames have started around 200~ and have dropped consistently to 20~ or so in combat. I've tried re-installing my drivers, everything. My GPU temperatures are around 60-70 C, and my CPU core temperatures are between 30-40 C. I have a suspicion I've broken something in the hardware, but I'm out of ideas. My rames are consistently below 60 in most situations. Tearing, etc.

I'm planning on taking my computer to a shop tomorrow, but I'm kind of stressed, seeing as I dropped about $1.3K on this rig a few months ago.

Any ideas?

Thanks so much.

Solution
OP here. I fixed it by checking if my GPU fan was spinning. Which, it wasn't. I took off my case, and touched my fan, and it started spinning again. Back at my normal frames. Weird.
