I recently got a 2080 and I didn't get the FPS boost I feel like i should have. I was told there was compatibility issues with my MOBO and CPU so I got a new mobo and it didn't help at all. So i am wondering if there other parts that may be bottle necking my GPU or something.
PC Specs:
GPU: Nvidia 2080 Founders
CPU: i7-7700k(4.2ghz)
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB 2400
MOBO: ASUS Z270-A

Solution
From what I've read, the RTX GPUs run best on Z390 MBs, but there's also a lot of talk saying the GDDR6 VRAM they use is having problems. Some are down clocking it to avoid severe graphics artifacts, however some say down clocking doesn't help.

The bottom line is the RTX series is a mess. Nvidia was not ready to launch it and my guess is, given the fact that they did not show any real benchmarks pre release, it's likely they knew about the problems. NEVER believe Nvidia's hype, always wait until there's a lot of user feedback before investing in their new products.
